Editorial Values and Standards

Manhattan Standard publishes original reporting on New York business, finance, real estate, and the people behind them. This page sets out how we work and how we label anything that was paid for.

Original reporting only

Everything we publish is written for us. We do not republish other outlets' articles, in whole or in part, and we do not run automated feeds as editorial content.

Paid features

We sell feature coverage. When an article was produced under a paid arrangement, it carries a visible label at the top of the page, and every link to the subject's own websites and profiles is marked as sponsored so search engines treat it correctly.

Paid placement buys the commission, the reporting time, and the production. It does not buy approval over what we conclude, and it does not buy removal of unflattering facts.

What we will not do

• Invent awards, rankings, or credentials for anyone.
• Publish a paid feature without a visible disclosure.
• Take payment to remove or suppress accurate reporting.
• Present sponsored content as independent editorial.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we correct it on the article and note what changed and when. To request a correction, contact us with the article URL and the specific error.

Sourcing

We name sources wherever we can. Where we grant anonymity, it is because the source faces a real professional or legal risk, and an editor knows their identity.
